S Africa’s bees touted as economic lifesavers – 19 Jul 09

It may be widely known as the “killer bee,” but to some of South Africa’s poor, the African bee is proving to be an economic life-saver. Domestic sales and exports of an alcoholic beverage made from honey produced by the bees could become a successful business for some communities. Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports on an innovation coud raise many from South Africa’s poorest province out of poverty.
