high school groups- labeling self and others……what are you.?

I’ve been reading the adolecent forum for a few weeks. When i was in highschool back in the 80′s we had your preps, jocks, stoners, wanna bees and nobodies.
I have to keep looking up all these sub-cultures and find it very interesting. We now have emos, and goths and Sxe and who knows what else
I am 35 and feel tottaly out of touch.Anyway my question is How old are you and what sub-culture do you identify with?

  3. early 30′s and I’m among the married with children set… my husband and I were what we would now label “alterna-teens” when we were in high school. We find it hysterically funny to realize that we are the future many of the so-called non-conformist teens are headed for…

  4. There are plenty of those little cliques still. Goth, emo, skater, prep, jock, snob kind of goes with preps and jocks and the nerds and anime kids and then the wigger kids (no offense but that is a clique). I’m 18 and I was never labeled anything because I never gave people the chance to label me. I never stuck with the same way to dress or a certain view on life that made everyone else part of a particular group. My friends, however, were usually all over the place except for the people that had rotten attitudes regardless of what group it was. Right now I just label myself as “cinderella: pregnant style” ^_^
