It just depends on the quality of the car and how well it was maintained. Some engines can take it, others can’t. No engine can take it if it’s not treated properly.
I don’t know anything about that particular car, but try looking up consumer reports. You can see how common certain porblems arose on certain cars that way. Just to give an example…I like Cadillacs. I had an 85, and that thing’s engine is known to be a disaster unless absolutely meticulous care is taken. I have a 90 now, and those engines are known for going 300,000 miles if they’re well taken care of… So basically, do ample research on the car and see what’s common.
Aside from that, if it looks like the car has a history of being reliable and having longevity, just be thorough when inspecting it. Take it for a test drive, and make sure you don’t see any fluid leaks underneath (save water from A/C of course), push down on the ends, make sure the suspension isn’t boaty, listen for any roughness in the engine at idle and all…make sure it shifts well, no clunks from the transmission. Look at the engine for oil sludge or any other signs of leaks or defects. Check the fluid levels. Be sure to look under the car for rust, any lines that aren’t looking good, ball joints, etc…
Also, ask the owner why they’re selling it, and how it got that many miles over that amount of time. It would be good to know if the car was used to go back and forth, stressful in-town driving, that sort of thing. Just be thorough, and prepare yourself to make an informed decision. Good luck.

I work at an AcDelco service center. We work on any and everything on the road. The only thing we have ever had to do to the Montaro’s besides routine service is, One was towed in because of a broken timing belt and bent the valves in the heads, repaired that and it’s still on the road. If it was well taken care of, I see no problem, good luck

Anything over 150,000 miles is not worth buying. No matter how well cars are taken care of, wear and tear and the age of the car will eventually start creeping up on you.
