5 days after we installed the bees, it was time for someone to check up on em and I was solo. I set up the camera on a tripod to show you my very first time tending them. This was my very first time getting up close and personal with bees. I got interested in them after my step-father got some hives in Michigan, my uncle has an apiary in Albany and my step-brother also got bees. My apiary was started May 3, 2009 in Mt Washington, California in the heart of east Los Angeles. I got my gear from Los Angeles Honey Co. in downtown (!) and my packages bees came from CF Koehnen in Glenn, California. I had them delivered UPS overnight and am glad to report they are …
