Bug spray while beekeeping?

I beekeep near a hive with a lot of overgrowth all around it and in such overgrowth lurk hundreds of pesty Mosquitos. While beekeeping I’m always constantly swatting at my legs which are constantly swarmed by mosquitos. I leave the hive with at LEAST 30 bites per visit. Is it safe for the bees if I were to spray my legs and arms with OFF bug spray before each visit?

Why are all the bees dying?

Answer: The stupid anti-mosquito planes fying around flying around and putting the spray on all the flowers and when the bees land on them they get infected and have no strength to fly back home. Did the anit-mosquitos die from the sparying? NO!! Stop the spary and the bees will live!!!!

Here in the Philippines we have smoke piles to keep away the mosquitos. How does it actually work?

Is the smoke an iritant to their eyes? I don’t think the little creatures breathe, right? Or do they? Also, when bees are smoked out of a hive, is it the same biological effect taking place as with the mosquitos? I guess I’m asking, HOW is the smokeout so effective, so fast, technically?

Tips for keeping away bugs?

I need a new way to keep away bees and mosquitos, I am allergic to repellants, and mosquito repellants seem to attract bees. I am severly allergic to bees, and very allergic to Mosquitos. I can live through mosquito bits but it is like most people’s allergies to bees. Bees I may not be able to be saved from again since I don’t tollerate the Epi pen they usually give, and it is so severe. I will live with a reaction from repellant if needed, but don’t know of one that doesn’t attract bees, or keep them away. Anyone know anything that can keep away both, or a combination of things. I am already well covered clothes wise since I react to the sun too. I need the extra for what can get through clothes, or in a location. Please any ideas are worth checking into.

What do the “Deadly” West Nile Mosquitos and Africanized “Killer” Bees have to do with Africa?

Or is it just code for something else?
Just seems like more of that “Americans don’t mess with that there African stuff” that big fat uncle sam has worn out over the years.
