Would you keep bees and why?

I am studying product design in Cardiff. For my major 3rd year project I am going to design a user friendly beehive to help promote the saving of bees. Bees population is in decline due to a mite and some pesticides and general modern life. They need help to recover, if people were encouraged to keep bees then this would really help. I want this design to not discriminate peoples living situations. It needs to be suitable for urban and rural areas, apartments, small gardens and rooftops. If bees aren’t saved scientists believe that people will only survive a few years after. What are peoples thoughts on this project?

Me and some of my family members keep hearing about the disappearance of bees, and where wondering if, and how we could start a hive. If we did start one, would we be helping in anyway with the reproduction and population of them?

What happened to all the bees?

As many of you fellow garderners and poor honey farmers have noticed the bee population in the U.S. has significantly dropped over the past few years. This has damaged my garden because butterflies can’t pick up all the extra slack for pollinating certian plants, some self-pollinate enough but others need help, there used to be lots of bees in my garden but lately your lucky if you see even one, and if there’s two you’re having a great day. Some blame it on cell phone signals (microwaves) confusing the bees. Others on a type of Bee AIDS, what they call it is Colonial Collapse Disorder, CCD for short. Why do you think this all happening. If you’ve read to the end of this thanks.

Are people overreacting to the swine flu?

Besides kids missing school for others having the swine flu. Why are people going crazy of this flu. I know the media doesn’t help they remind you of it everyday. They like to stress the numbers, but if a hundred people died out of a million people thats less than .01% of the population would die. We have always had bird flu, killer bees, and wild snakes they are going to wipe out everybody, but we are still here today. We don’t care about all the other things that are serious and kill more people than swine flu will ever kill, like drunk driving, global warming, or gun violence some of things we have total control over.
