Clarissa’s POV
“Why would Claudia invite us to her party?” Viola asked bemusedly as she inspected the perfectly drawn black and gold invitation.
“I dont know, maybe she started taking drugs or something.” I said absently, I didn’t really care that we were invited – I didn’t plan to go – Claudia was a *****, she thought she was all that by insulting everyone around her, that it made her cool. No one really liked her, apart from some of her ‘friends’ they were just like her, if they didn’t get their way on every detail they swear and saw how much of a ***** you are. It was pathetic. She was no queen bee, she wasn’t the school whore, and she wasn’t a rich, dumb blonde. Claudia was smart, justified and was most certainly not rich. She lived in a house her family had owned for the past century or two. It was a supposedly ‘haunted’ house; the house Claudia planned to have her ‘slumber party’ at. Yup. Sleeping over at her house. Two whole days dealing with her *****iness. That’s why I didn’t plan to go. I could barely stand her at school; no way was I staying in her house for 48 hours.
The bell for fourth period rung and Viola and I got up from the ground, dusting ourselves off before heading off to History.
“The term werewolf can be attributed to an ancient European tribe known as the Yulannu Wood Lords during the second millennium B.C. who celebrated the winter solstice Yuletide festival. They were the precursors to the Dianic moon cult and they were also known as Weres. Their totem pole had a wolf at the head, which was their totem-animal as many other tribes use different animals as their tribal identities. Being known as Weres, their identity could be called the were-wolf and they were known to worship the moon.” Ms. Manning told the class, she changed the clear sheet on the projector to another, showing a picture of a tribal looking wolf. In today’s history class she had decided we’d go through a few European tribes, and when she mentioned one about werewolves – which I think she did purposely – the entire class jumped to hear the myths. I of course didn’t believe in werewolves; or vampires, or fairies. It was a load of crap in my opinion.
