Starting new bee hive

It was a fun day, with a road trip to rural Baxley GA to pick up 3 lbs of Italian strain honey bees. (Approx 10000 bees) Once we got them to Atlanta, they were put into a new hive. The queen stays in her cage until she is used to the smell of the new hive, and the workers have made some comb for her. I brought shallow supers, frames with bees wax coated foundation from Dadant. In a few days, we will take the cork out of one end of the queen cage, and let the worker bees eat through the …
