If the volume of smears against Obama is compared to flattering things being said about McCain…?

Don’t we see that hatred, name-calling and tabloid slander-mongering is shaping up as perhaps the key determinant of this election?

Remember how we weren’t supposed to “hate on” Bush? Remember the big media blow out a few years ago that coined the phrase “the language of hate”? The concept even made the cover of Time magazine at one point. Conservatives were so concerned about hate rhetoric then.

Why not now? What is different now?
“I have pretty much heard nothing but Obama being the media’s darling, and everyone seems to be treating him with kid gloves”

That is all third hand — “seems”; “pretty much heard”. What are YOU watching?
onto something there, jerome. That’s the gist of the current political season

  2. If Obama is getting smeared it is a result of his own actions…the “cult” can’t blame everything on the republicans or McCain supporters…it can only last so long.

  3. What are you watching? I have pretty much heard nothing but Obama being the media’s darling, and everyone seems to be treating him with kid gloves afraid to discuss the elephant in the room–Obama and his wife are the racists, not to mention his inexperience, shady past, and horrible voting record in the Senate.

How is it smearing a candidate to examine him honestly and determine that he isn’t fit to be President?

  4. Could it be that you are comparing a 25+ year veteran of politics with a tried and true voting record to a half term senator with no voting record who has missed 90%+ of his votes???

Stop equating an unqualified candadit to hate… has nothing to do with it.

I don’t hate Obama, I just know he is no where NEAR qualifed to run this country…

  5. Conservatives realize that the only ammo the libs have is name calling and hate mongering and rather than rise above it, as Bush had requested all of us to do when he first took office, the conservatives realize eight years later it’s something the libs are incapable of and so the cons decided to get back down into the mud fight with them. I guess if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

For the most part, there is civil debate…but the smears come plentifully from factions on both sides.

  7. On the other hand you can say that Obama supporters who spent years calling Bush a “chimp” among other names on a consistent basis, can dish it out, but they can’t take it.

  10. I don’t hate Obama. He is just a greenhorn in way over his head. Just because he is proving to be far less than you thought he was, don’t blame Conservatives. We tell the truth. Sorry if that proves inconvenient for Obama followers but the Emperor has no clothes.

Apparently we are not exposed to the same media at all…I think it is just the opposite. The media is literally falling all over itself to support Obama, apparently in attempt to be politically correct and show how very liberal and loving they are…
I say B S their jobs are to report and that is it…they have done a disservice to the American people and they are trying to manage the election..

  12. Obama seems to be far more sensitive to “smears” than McCain. It is okay, for instance to make jokes about McCain’s age and to even question his military record, but Obama is off limits when it comes to comedy, even though he seems to be a pretty funny guy. There is a definite double standard.
